Meet my new ride. Let’s call it TIEfighter. You know, that fierce space fighter Darth Vader rides.
In detail, TIEfighter is a black Dahon Speed P8, a folding bike. It was the answer of months and months of bike searching. It was “reborned” on Tuesday, 21st May. I said reborned, because it is pre-loved, as in second. 6 months old, but in very, very good condition. It has 8 speed gears, a Ritchie handle bar, and that thick lovely Schwalbe Big Apple tires.

On the next day, I took it for its first spin. From Ratu Plaza to Sarinah Thamrin, and back to Martimbang (Pakubuwono). Smooth ride, all the way. Then on Sunday, I took it for another spin, with my sister in law (she rides Dahon Curve). Martimbang-Monas-Martimbang, that would be +20km. It felt like nothing, because the main road were closed until 9AM.
Let the confidence piling up. For my next step is to build my own full bike, not folding ones. And I’m hoping, before 2010, I could participate on a triathlon.
Not for trends, I ride bike as my contribution to green living. Yihaa! Eat those proton blaster you scum rebels!
